How do I volunteer at Hands On Hartford?

Our volunteer opportunities fluctuate throughout the year, at this time we do not have any available volunteer opportunities.

Do you need volunteers in the evening or on weekends?

With the exception of special events, our volunteering opportunities fall on Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30am-5:00pm.

Do you have any one-time volunteer opportunities?

Due to limited volunteer onboarding capacity, we request that our volunteers commit to volunteering on a weekly basis.

I have community service hours to complete. Can I complete them at Hands On Hartford?

We are happy to accommodate volunteers in need of community service hours. For community service volunteers, a minimum of 40 hours must be completed at our organization. Please note that volunteers needing to complete community service hours on a time sensitive bases may not be accepted, or may not be able to complete all hours with us.

I’m under 18, can I volunteer?

To volunteer at Hands On Hartford, you must be at least 16 years old and have parental permission. Volunteers ages 10 and up may volunteer with their parent or guardian present at holiday community meals or special events.

What should I wear to volunteer?

Dress casual but appropriate in a professional setting. All volunteers must wear closed toe non-slip shoes. Gather55 volunteers are required to wear a provided hair net or baseball cap.
