A Fresh Start: a Journey of Resilience
Miguel, a 60-year-old man, came to our Day Program in search of help. Recently released from prison, he found himself facing the harsh reality of being two months behind on rent. He lost his job during his incarceration, and now, he was now struggling to keep a roof over his head.
Our staff immediately connected Miguel to our Homeless Prevention Program, and we were able to assist with paying his overdue rent. But we didn’t stop there. Our Day Program team guided Miguel through the job application process, offering him the tools and support he needed to secure employment.
Over the next month, Miguel worked closely with our staff, refining his resume, completing job applications, and preparing for interviews. Through his determination and the unwavering support of our team, Miguel successfully secured full-time employment. Not only did he regain his financial stability, but he also found a renewed sense of hope for his future.
Today, Miguel is not only stably housed but also empowered—living proof that with the right support, second chances are always possible, no matter the past.
